Poem of Ahmed Miqdad /Gaza Palestine

“Santa of Gaza”
You spread love,
peace and happiness,
you wear your beautiful suit,
and children wait you,
with hope for presents.
Children like the tree,
which is full of delightful lights,
and inspire them with hope,

Santa,
don’t you want come,
spread your nice morals,
and show people love and peace.
It seems that,
you will not be able to come.
I will excuse you,
Gaza is closed for guests,
they closed the borders,
and we are inside the tremendous prison.
You can come with a boat,
through the blue sea,
but be careful,
they will kill you,
and change the blue to red,
from your blood and red suit.
They don’t have mercy,
as their Talmud recommends.

Santa,
my small town needs you,
and children await your visitation,
but there are a lot of children,
are so afraid of your red suit,
it reminds them with blood,
and the massacres were committed,
against the innocents in Gaza.
You will remind mothers,
of their lost children
who were killed fiercely.
You will remind the orphans
of their parents
who will bring them presents?!.
You will remind children,
of their broken toys under the rubble.
Santa,
 Please don’t come to Gaza.
You will bring tears to the eyes,
and refresh sadness in the hearts.

Santa,
I will put the Christmas tree,
over the rubble of the homes,
I will light up the place,
give it hope and joy,
in spite of the hard life,
the broken hearts,
the tearful eyes,
the lost beloved,
I will change the atmosphere
of sadness and sorrow,
to an atmosphere of love and peace.
I will let people in Paris,
see the lights from Gaza
to tell the world that
we are still alive
and we will never be broken.
