Poem of RezaUddin Stalin

First Immolation in the Space

Its twin eyes are the siblings of twinkling stars
It is going to the home of space today
The scary scenes of the sky
Are setting fire in the body
Will it meet the angels in the space
Will Zeus pat it on the head
And it will swing its tail in gratitude
Darkness increases gradually
The eyes overcast with fire-hungry fog
It remembers its excitement to the cheering call of its master
Millions of lead spears are piercing the window of the spaceship from around
There is loyalty of tears in its sleeping eyes
It remembers loving countenance of its master’s daughter
She searched me whenever I was out of sight
La-i-ka ----La-i-ka-------

It heads up listening to the echo
Laika does not know the computation of lunar and solar months
Yet on November 3 in 1957 it melted in the jaws of the satellite
It remained resistant despite strong solar storms
Sputnik 2
Is penetrating the ionosphere

Laika’s questioning gaze
Telling every scene where I am
Why no one is calling me out
In the whirl of sleep the space is threatening- keep quiet
- you are the immortal creature of science

Tired and exhausted Laika fell asleep on the pages of biology
If it would return to the dearest earth anymore

It knows not
