STOP war with love

Stop the War with Love

Halt the dry pulse of the cold, biting steel,

For the map cannot bear one more stain on its face;

There’s no glory in medals that soldiers may feel

If the price is the hunger and fear we embrace.

Stop the fire with hands opened wide,

Not with more walls, nor with bitterness new;

Let hatred no longer have places to hide,

Silence the thunder, let the flower come through!

What use is the land if it’s barren and lone?

What use is the triumph with no one to see?

The world is a child, to the shadows now prone,

Searching for laughter to set its soul free.

Let weapons surrender to what we can feel,

Let lead melt away into songs of deep peace;

Let life take to flight with a spirit of zeal,

And the mask of all hatred finally cease.

No more of the weeping, the grave, or the flight,

Let the earth heal its colors, wounded and gray;

Peace is the urgency, our greatest light:

Stop the war with love, starting today!

Seeds of Wonder

Small feet tracing paths where the grass is still green,

Tiny hands catching wind in a knot and a play,

A language of laughter, a magic unseen,

That conquers the silence and brightens the day.

They know not of winters, nor hours cast aside,

Their time is a "now" of colors so bold,

Architects of bridges where dreams can reside,

Building new worlds out of sugar and gold.

To love a child is to return to the shore,

To shed all our fears and our skin made of gray,

To watch how the world, through an opening door,

Shines in a smile that chases shadows away.

So guard well their flight, and their wonder so deep,

Let no heavy hand dim their crystal-clear song,

For in every child, and the secrets they keep,

The pulse of a future beats steady and strong.
