A poem of Charles Lipanda Mahigwe / Malawi

Starlit Sky

Under the guise of darkness
Birds chirping for birth of a child
Reviving glory of father of togetherness
Relit love in hopelessly enslaved wild

The joy we enrich
For the coming of Christmas
Bringing starlights in Bethlehem
All creatures being stimulated to sing

Hallelujah hosanna ×3
Jewish words displayed over starlit sky
Fishermen encountered land and sea breezes
For the sky murmured softly:
Christmas is coming

Snowflakes in starlit sky
Like butterfly on cornflower
Raindrops are Christmas Eve cornice
For bad deeds are buried in starlit night
