Human Behavior and Humanity

Female student was violently beaten one of their class fellows in private school in Lahore. The video footage was shared on social media in which three girls were torturing one of their class fellow. One was pinching her face, the other was sitting at her back with smile on her face as a sign of victory, and the third one was hitting her with her shows.  While the others standing there watched and recorded the incident. The voices of boys could be heard laughing, and no one dared to help the helpless girl.  This wasn’t the first video of this kind. Every day there are such stories on television screen and social media. In this video we need to explore what makes us human. Human behavior makes us different from the animals. Morality makes us human, making choices in life for right and wrong.
Humanity is the nature of humans. Humanity can simply be defined as the quality of being human. The nature of man by which he is distinguished from other beings. Humanity means avoiding cruelty and showing love and compassion towards others. Living good life.  Mother Teresa once said that “a life not lived for others is not a life.” The world of we live in today, is losing the true essence of humanity. As technology and capitalism are evolving at a faster rate in this era, we must all spread humanity wherever possible.
When we say humanity, we can look at it from a lot of different perspectives. One of the most common ways of understanding is that it is a value of kindness and compassion towards others. If we look back at our history, we will find many acts of cruelty by humans but at the same time, there are also numerous acts of humanity. There are many great humanitarians who live among us and who were also in history. To name a few, we had Mother Teresa, Maulana Abdul Star Edi, Nelson Mandel, Martin Luther King and many others. These are just a few of the names which almost everyone knows. The acts and ways of these great humanitarians serve as a great example for us now to do better in our life. We must all indulge in good acts rather than in evil acts.
