THE LILIES

For times and times now
I’ve been staring at the lilies
On the top of the mountain
Hoping they will notice me as I was ascending the steep slope
On a path surrounded by tiny rainbows lightening the way
Tirelessly.
And yet little did I realize about their seducing beauty
That convinced me I had found the treasure I’d desperately sought,
As the treasure was brought all along with me
And soon made its appearance brighter than the sunlight
Mysterious as the dark matter in the universe of my soul
Adventurous as the Gulliver’s travels in my literary prairies.
Once upon a time there were some beautiful lilies
On the top of a mountain.
Little did I know I already had them in me!

LES LYS

Depuis longtemps
Je ne cesse de regarder les lys
Au sommet de la montagne
Εspérant qu’ils me verraient alors que je montais la pente raide
Sur un chemin entouré de minuscules arcs-en-ciel éclairant le chemin
Sans relâche.
Et pourtant, jusqu’à présent,
Je ne me rendis que peu compte de leur beauté séduisante
Ce qui me convainquit que j’avais trouvé
Le trésor que je cherchais désespérément,
Comme le trésor était apporté tout le long avec moi
Et fit bientôt son apparition plus brillant que la lumière du soleil
Mystérieux comme la matière noire dans l’univers de mon âme
Aventureux comme les voyages de Gulliver dans mes prairies littéraires.
Il était une fois de beaux lys
Au sommet d’une montagne.
Je ne le savais pas que je les avais déjà en moi!

Η Παρασκευή Β. Μόλαρη είναι πτυχιούχος Αγγλικής και Ελληνικής Γλώσσας και Φιλολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών καθώς και πτυχιούχος του Τμήματος Ξένων Γλωσσών Μετάφρασης και Διερμηνείας του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου. Έχει μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο σπουδών Μάστερ ΙΙ από το Πανεπιστήμιο Paul Valéry Montpellier III . Τμήμα Νεοελληνικών σπουδών στη Νεότερη Ελληνική Ιστορία και Ιστορία της Εκπαίδευσης. Έχει παρουσιάσει και μεταφράσει πλήθος ποιημάτων σύγχρονων Ελλήνων ποιητών και τα οποία χρησιμοποιούνται ως διδακτικό υλικό στο Ιόνιο Πανεπιστήμιο. Ως συνεργάτης του επιστημονικού περιοδικού ΝΕΑ ΠΑΙΔΕΙΑ έχει δημοσιεύσεις μεταφραστικές της εργασίες και παρουσιάσεις, καθώς και στο Δίκτυο Πολιτικής Ανωτάτης Εκπαίδευσης του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών.
