Poem:

Desolation I

If I were an antelope that knowingly fell into blindness,
So that no one would need to heed me
Whenever I am lost, deceased, or gone.

Am I not the appalling human who is never pleased?
I loathe, yet sometimes adore, this very perception.

And if I were a deer,
How far could I envision my prejudice as a creature?

It hurts deeply to think that nobody will hear me,
As long as I endure the deafness of society.

I think I am the worst part.
I seek attention only through desolation.

Too lost to know anyone understands
Humans only divide my abilities.

Have you ever experienced the beauty of gratitude?
Such as when you see the smallest things that God shows us.

This happened to me and I crave it.

But we chase and long for a lot of things,
That we may not be able to get in the future.

And then in the end I realize
Did I ever want to be sensible from the start?
