Three Poems of Shakil Kalam - Poet from Bangladesh

Poetry By Honorable poet Shakil Kalam

Poem-1 The War of Resistance

Now the longest bridge of war burning around me,
The dire stench of burnt corpses in the desert air, I find my mother;
My mother is blocked.
Even so I am doing combating without arms and ammunitions;
I'm an unarmed fighter and a freedom loving people Palestinian.

Now the Gaza's sky is dark with black smoke and the terrible flames of the fire;
By the attack of occupying forces non-stop bombings are going on and bombs are exploding continuously
It seems that the well furnished city is now a heap of ruins.
Each and every moment, bombs are falling indiscriminately.
Women and men, children, young, old man-woman were injured or killed,
Countless bodies and people were lying on the streets.
The highway is blood-shaded.
There is no place to store sesame in the hospital, full of wounded people.
The sky-horizon is listening with the ears, the cry of humiliated humanity,
The nature is quite calm, the desert-wind is standing there.
The moon, the sun, the planets and the stars have lost their speed.

The planet is witnessing a big killing of innocent souls and cruelty.
Though their conscience doesn't respond.
Lets go, we pray for the world's conscience waking up to stop the genocide.

Who sings the praises of humanity; today they are big supporters of inhumanity,
They are big suppliers of weapons, and guardian and angel
Alas humanity! The same mysterious form is yours; filled with deception.

We are big destitute like helpless deer cubs for a long time.
Who is with us? Go ahead.
For the battle of survival, give me the tools, courage, moral support, supply of food grains.
I will build a war of resistance; I will not accept defeat.

Poem-2 Different Mother!

The smile of moon is heavily floating on the mother's face;
When she has a beautiful child across her lap.
Children are more beautiful in the mother's lap;
When the children are to be beautiful, gaudier, healthy and agile.

When a mother has a handicapped child;
How fragile darkness has come down on that mother's face!
Has anyone thought of that face once?

Anyone has seen such a blurred face till today!
No cameraman took such a picture of that mother's face upto date!
Has any artist painted a picture of that mother's face?

Poem-3Then..........?

There is an epidemic of destruction of human civilization on earth,
Lockdown, human life in quarantine prisons.
The natural environment is busy trying to unravel its nature,
The environment is full of greenery and flowers.
Biodiversity is regaining its lost aesthetic beauty.

One day the pandemic will end, people will be released;
The world may be filled with laughter and joy again.

The school yard will be abuzz with the call of the students.
The excitement will return to the college and university campus.

Young men and women will find hope to live in a beautiful land.

Old people will say, you can live a few more days.
You don't have to die alone in the ICU of the hospital.
And when he/she dies, no one will turn away from sepulchre.
People will be able to open their hearts and smile again!
Will get rid off from captivity; like a free bird in the blue sky.

Then the green-fresh environment of the world will remain intact!
Will carbon emissions and deforestation be stopped forever?
But can we save the habitable world!
